The beginning: The year was 2001 when the OWLS took the field against Slippery Rock, three young men stood at Pro Player Stadium in Miami, FL to cheer on their Hometown team. A few games later in Daytona Beach under the pouring rain they witness the first OWL victory; this is where the spirit began. Four years later, after many tailgates, fraternity parties, Program Board Events, Student Government Elections, Dinner at Wackadoos (now Coyote Jack, for the younger folk), and friendships created. We graduated from FAU and only one thing stayed the same...the school spirit and Pride to Be an OWL. 2007 marked a landmark for the Florida Atlantic Community, the nationally televised New Orleans Bowl, and we were there.
